Kevin Solis is interested in the narrative capability of an object and the way it is able to hold it. His work explores ideas of concealing and revealing, potentially suggesting that there are objects being trapped or information being hidden. He tends to focus on the process of making and material exploration. He gravitates towards the use of relationships of contrasting surfaces, from very sleek, bright, and precise, to rough, dark, and organic.
In 2020, Kevin Solis is debuting his first furniture series represented by the 301 Mirror Chair, after years of experience and recognition for the making of vases and lamps.
